Someone said that because of its popularity, Busted are releasing Teenage Kicks as a contendor for the Christmas number one.. I have no idea if this is true or not, I don't think it is. They are, however, performing the punk classic at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Tour, in memory of the late John Peel.

You know, I just realised how hilarious the She Wants To Be Me video could be. Because they've just done another live video for it (including stealing bits out of 3am, grr), I've got my own ideas together..

I don't know about the intro, but when the verse starts, there's a girl driving a car while playing a red guitar (LOL oh dear, bit dangerous), wearing a t shirt and sunglasses.. then one of Busted (I'm seeing Matt) is walking down one side of the road wearing the same, maybe carrying a red guitar, when he spots the girl and looks surprised. Maybe a thought bubble could appear, and inside it, the girl kissing him against a wall. On the other side of the road is a supermodel, so the girl starts following the supermodel in her car and crashes into a bus.
The bridge and chorus can be Busted performing.. I'm thinking a bit like Green Day's Basket Case video - bring in a bit of the loony bin, since it's mentioned later.
Onto verse two.. nowhere near as funny as the first one, but the girl could be playing football outside, then it skips to a scene of her doing ballet. While she's dancing, she looks across the room and sees herself standing in the corner smoking, perhaps with Charlie, since there's not much of him. How about we have her standing up to take a pee as well? Then Matt notices her again and thinks he's going mad.
More performing.. random clips of the girl.. and then James dressed up as a girl in the loony bin. He can sit in a wheelchair and pull silly faces while putting on a girl's voice hahaha. Um, more performing, and.. I don't know about the ending, but a member of Busted could close their eyes, and loads of old-fashioned style images of the girl (past parts of the video or something) could flash across the screen.. a bit like the start of Avril's latest video for Nobody's Home.

How's that? Maybe I should be a music video director one day hahaha.

I forgot to remind you that Busted were on This Morning yesterday.. they were on briefly twice, plus a performance of She Wants To Be Me. I missed the first little part, gah. Anyway, the boys are on TOTP Saturday tomorrow morning.

Apparently Busted want Michael Howard (Conservative leader) to appear in their next video.. haha, I don't know if it's true, but there you go. Talking of videos, guess what came on the music channels earlier? 3am.. I MEAN She Wants To Be Me. I'm not joking, the two videos are almost identical! In the new one, it often has three frames on the screen instead of just one, and I only caught about half of it, but from what I saw, there was no backstage footage. What's going on?!

Busted are confirmed to perform at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party 2004, and they're on the cover of the new Smash Hits.

3am is released in Spain on October 23rd, Thunderbirds Are Go reached #92 in the German charts after no promotion haha. Okay, that's my European news of the day.

Over at Charlie Source, you can see pictures from Busted's US album launch party, as well as pictures from.. well, lots of things really. Check it out.

Ashley told me that the Busted Or America show will be aired on MTV2 in America, starting November 2nd at 8pm, and probably on normal MTV in England on November 8th. I also read that it might be repeated on TMF about a month after it starts for people who have freeview. I'm not sure if it'll be aired around the world, but I think it should be - whether it will or not is a different matter altogether.

Okay, so my friend sent me a song. 'Busted's version of Tenacious D's Tribute'. Obviously since I hadn't heard anything about them covering this, I doubted it was real. But it is. And I have to say it is one of the funniest songs EVER! CLICK TO DOWNLOAD! Apparently it's from when they first started out - it's on a site somewhere for signed and unsigned bands, but I have no idea where. But it's pretty damn cool.

Woah, have you seen Matt's hair?! Click for some pictures from their album launch yesterday!

Ashley emailed me to say that around 200 people turned up to the album launch and Busted performed five songs. Apparently there were sound tech problems, but while everyone was waiting, Matt kept them all entertained by telling jokes. Afterwards, they talked with the fans, signed autographs, posed for pictures etc. She also said that Busted should be going back to America to promote the TV show Busted Or America, which will show clips from the party hehe. For American fans, Busted are hosting Nickelodeon's UPickLive tonight from 5-7pm.

My Dad showed me his copy of the current issue of political comic Private Eye, which included THIS lovely cartoon. I think the cartoonist mixed up Charlie and Matt, but it's funny all the same. It's all based on the fact Charlie and Matt recently admitted to supporting the Tories..

Random info of the day given through the form by Debz:- after their gig in Graceland, Seattle, the boys were introduced to Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner, at the Playboy mansion. Haha. She also told me that Busted are playing at Planet Hollywood tonight, then returning to the UK tomorrow to appear on Ant and Dec's show on Saturday. I'm not sure if they're going back to America for a couple of weeks afterwards, but they're going to have to start rehearsing for their massive arena tour which starts on November 15th - hope you've all got your tickets! I haven't. Damn Scotland.

Not much news today, but Busted are in this week's Sneak - there are pictures from the Ant and Dec Saturday Night Takeaway, which is on THIS SATURDAY, remember! Apparently Ant and Dec get caught by the police as frauds, so they escape and Busted are left to deal with it.. Oo.

I've updated the schedule page with some UK dates later this month (yes, Busted will be on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway next week). Also added two affiliates, Charlicious and a fansite for Blink 182's bassist Mark Hoppus.

I bought Total Guitar magazine today, Busted aren't in it, but Billie Joe Armstrong talks about them. As you might know, Green Day are one of my fave bands of all time, so I was worried that he was going to say something bad about them. Anyway, he said:-
'British journalists have been telling me about them - they're like a punk boyband? It's weird because it seems like people are taking more of the cute side of being in a punk rock band and turning it into profit or something. Which is pretty weird.' [editor: There also seems to be a never-ending stream of Californian punk-pop bands with one novelty hit single..] 'Yeah, but a lot of those bands are getting signed to major record labels really early. So it's hard - you don't wanna pass judgement on them because it's so early in their career and you need a body of work to pass judgement. It's like judging the Beatles on I Wanna Hold Your Hand or judging the Beastie Boys on Fight For Your Right To Party. You have to let them develop and see what happens.'

Busted are up for the Artist Of The Year award at the Digital Music Awards. To vote for them, text 'Year 3' to 85010 (each text costs 50p). The awards ceremony takes place at London's Shepherds Bush Empire on October 19th. If you vote by text, you could win a year's free broadband from BT. Voting ends October 15th.

In TOTP magazine, it says that Busted are returning to the UK on October 17th to rehearse for their tour, and Charlie is also writing a soccer anthem for his hometown of Ipswich.

I've had a few questions asking when the America Or Busted TV show will be aired, and to be honest, I'm not sure when exactly - soundgenerator.com says that it will be aired in America at the beginning of November and then in the UK a few weeks later. It should be on MTV, but there's a rumour that it'll be on MTV2, which I think (and hope) is a lie.

I've also been asked if Matt and Holly have split up, when I realised I hadn't said anything about that on here - I probably thought it was just a rumour or something. But yes, it is true. :-( He said they probably won't get back together, but will remain good friends. On the subject of questions, I'll be answering them tonight - sorry I haven't already, but I've been really busy.

It says on busted.com that A Present For Everyone has sold 1 million copies in the UK, but that's a lie. It has sold AT LEAST 3 million copies worldwide, and it went triple platinum (that's 900,000 copies) in the UK in January. I hardly believe that in 9 months, it has only sold 100,000 copies.

The whole Ant and Dec thing is wrong as well, apparently it was filmed on James' birthday, and they're actually Irish nuns, and the police turn up. I'm not sure why - we'll have to wait and seeeeee.

Watch out for Busted in the new series of Saturday Night Takeaway, where Ant and Dec pretend to be Australian DJs who are promoting and interviewing the band down under. However, when they start slagging off the band's music, fans and girlfriends, Charlie storms out, while the other two are left speechless. It is only then that Ant and Dec come clean - luckily, the boys saw the funny side, and you can too if you remember to watch it. I don't know how many episodes there are, but apparently it is about half way through the series.
