So, Charlie, having had a hit single, you must be enjoying all this pop lark now?
You'd think! It's been crazy since we went to number three with What I Go To School For. I couldn't believe it did so well. We had to do TV and promotion work, we even went to Germany and we've been on tour too so it's been mad.

Any time off over Christmas?
Yeah - about five days. Being at home with my family is great as I haven't had much time off recently. I love Christmas! We've made the video for the next single, 'Year 3000', so we're ready to kick off again in the New Year. The song is basically about going to the future. It's a bit like the film 'Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure', which is wicked!

What do you enjoy most about fame?
Live shows. That's why I got into music. Everything else like photo shoots and interviews is great, but playing in front of people is the best feeling. Mind you, we do fun stuff on shoots, I've trashed two televisions recently. I smashed one with a hammer and threw the other one off a balcony. Very rock 'n' roll!

Do you make rock 'n' roll type demands when you're on tour?
I'm afraid I'm not outrageous. I ask for water mainly as I get hot on stage. If I could demand anything for my dressing room it'd be Britney Spears and a lock on the door!

So is Britney your ideal woman?
Yeah! But if she wasn't available, I'd settle for Penelope Cruz! I like sophisticated, well-dressed girls. I do get attention but it seems pretty false. Some girls just want to talk to me because I'm in a band. I had a long-term girlfriend before I joined Busted but I'm single at the moment.

What kind of boyfriend are you?
I'm quite romantic. One Valentine's Day I invited my girlfriend round, put rose petals in the bath, candles all round the room and champagne. I like the idea of walking along the beach after a lovely meal. Matt, on the other hand, would probably take a girl for a kebab, then out clubbing!
