Busted's Capital Takeover

Busted answer your questions and play you their favourite tunes..

Hi, we're Busted, and welcome to our Takeover. Let's kick off the show with our debut single 'What I Go To School For'.

This is Charlie from Busted and that was our debut single! As you can probably tell by the lyrics, it's about a teacher that we quite like! And it's all about our attempts to win her over, which in the end we do.

This is Mattie, and I'm going to choose my favourite song first. It's Blink 182 with 'What's My Age Again'. I love this song because I'm a massive Blink 182 fan. It's such a great track. I remember the first I heard it and I just thought 'what an amazing song'. It's just so cool.

'What I Go To School For' is all about fancying your teacher. Is there something you want to tell us?

Mattie: When I was younger I had a big crush on my science teacher. It was a bit sad really because she wasn't even that attractive, but I latched on to her and thought she was very fine. I didn't end up winning her over obviously, because that would be illegal and very naughty! I acted a bit stupid and soppy around her to be honest which was a bit embarrassing - my mates took the mick. But I got over it and moved on to girls of my own age!

Emily
Weren't you a bit embarrassed having to run around in your pants in the video?

Charlie: Yes, I was embarrassed. The director said to me 'Charlie, I want you to do the scene in your underpants' and I didn't exactly understand why I was doing it! But hey, it was all in the spirit of good fun! It was very cold and I had to wear a space blanket in the field, but it was good.

This is James from Busted and I'm going to choose one of my favourite songs now. It's Justin Timberlake's new song 'Like I Love You'. It's a grower.

This is Charlie, and it's now time for me to choose one of my favouite songs. I've got a cracker lined up for you - it's an old classic from Chesney Hawkes, 'The One And Only'. Rock on man!

Carrie
What are your top tips for becoming a pop star?

James: My top tip is just keep at it! You never know what's going to happen and you never know when it's going to happen.

Charlie: If you've got the talent then you'll get there. There are people at record companies whose job it is to look for talent. So if you've got it, they'll find you.

Mattie: A good thing is to write your own music as well.

Lyndsey
If you were in Celebrity Big Brother, who would you most like to be stuck in a house with?

Charlie: Britney would be one! And Blink 182 would be quite funny. And I think Sarah Michelle Geller could turn up as well. If she knocked on our door we'd let her in!

This is Mattie here, and it's time for another one of my favourite songs. I think I'm going to choose a Foo Fighters number - it's called 'Learn To Fly' and it's a top tune. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This is James, and I'm going to choose another one of my favourite songs. I'd like to hear a bit of Michael Jackson, 'Black And White'. Good song off the 'Dangerous' album, for those of you that haven't heard it.

Caroline
Who's the most famous person you've met since you started the band?

Mattie: We met Donny Osmond, which was absolutely amazing, and Robert Palmer.

Charlie: You'd laugh at how much Donny Osmond looks like a little cartoon character. No disrespect to Donny, but it was so funny I just wet myself!

Mattie: I met New Found Glory the other day as well, which left me a bit star struck.

James: And we brushed shoulders with Brian May from Queen. We didn't speak to him, but we walked past him! That was big for me.

Francesca
Who are your Pop Idols?

Charlie: I don't even think I need to say who's mine - it begins with B and ends with Y!

James: I think Robbie Williams is such a Pop Idol. He's got everything that a Pop Idol needs. He's got so much confidence, he's got a sense of humour, and he comes out with some great tracks as well. Coming from such a successful boy band and then being able to stick himself out there on his own means he deserves Idol status in my opinion.

Matt: It's a similar thing with Justin Timberlake. He's one of my favourite Pop Idols. I think he's going to have a great solo career because he's got what it takes.

Charlie: We're nearing the end of the show now, but there's always room for one more choice, and it's my choice! This song is just a classic, classic song. It's one of my early inspirations of rock music. It's from Nirvana - 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'.

James: Before we go, we've got one more track from our album. This might be the second single, it's 'Year 3000'.
