How do the Busted boys spend their free time? Charlie, Mattie and James take us on a magical mystery tour of their favourite places. But don't tell anyone else. It's a secret..
'I dream of doing a gig here'
Charlie takes us to his favourite venue - the Astoria in London
'There are lots of venues that I love, but the Astoria really stands out for me. It's legendary. I first came here when I was just 14. I watched Faith No More (indie rockers) and they totally blew me away. The atmosphere was amazing and I remember thinking to myself, 'This is the coolest place in the whole world.' Ever since then I've dreamed of performing a proper rock gig here.
'Me and my mates always used to crowd surf when we came to gigs. The first time I tried it was at the Reading Fetival when I was 15. It was so funny - the same night, my mate lost his shoe doing it and he got told off by his mum. It was fun, but it did get annoying after a while. People would kick you in the head. It was a painful hobby. My mates and I also once went through a craze of wearing make-up to make us look older.
'I've never pulled at a gig. The girls I go out with never seem to like the music I'm into. I don't have that problem when I go to indie clubs though - I snogged five girls in one night once.
'We have actually played at the Astoria before. It was a great gig, but it wasn't quite the hard rock event I'd dreamed of doing when I was younger.
'I'd still love to do another gig here - to see our name in lights outside would be amazing. It's a bit dingy, but that just adds to its charm. Oh, and there's a really nice chip shop always open outside too. Lovely!'
'Retail therapy totally rocks'
Mattie shows us his fave clothes shop - Plum in London's Soho
'Why is Plum my favourite place? Well, I love the road it's on, for a start. Berwick Street is my favourite street in London - it's got some cool shops. When I was younger I thought Soho was a sleazy area, but once you start handing out here you realise it's got a great vibe. And this shop is brilliant because it's full of all my favourite brands like Bench, Etnies shoes and a new make called Imperfectionist.
'I'd consider myself cool now, but I have made some terrible fashion mistakes in my time. I bought a revolting shirt with an outer space scene on it for a party when I was 14!
'I've had a few shop jobs in my time. I worked in Next when I was 17, but I only lasted four hours. It was filled with idiots who took their job far too seriously. I didn't know I had to dress formally, so when I turned up in just a shirt and trousers they gave me the nastiest of ties to wear. I hated it. I walked out in the end and never got paid for the work. They owe me!
'Shopping's different for us since we've become famous. I actually got mobbed in a shop the other week. Loads of girls were following me which was fine at first, but it got quite scary when they started crowding around me. Some of the girls started to scream and it attracted loads of attention. Then they tried to steal stuff off me, which happens all the time. I used to wear wristbands, but I've got none left now. Fans nicked them off my wrists!'
'Girls love it when I play guitar'
We head to Rockers in Denmark Street, London
'I love guitars, so this is my favourite place in the world. The first thing I did when we got signed was come down here and buy a guitar. It cost loads - £850 - but it's ace.
'I'd say I'm pretty hot on the guitar. For example, at our party on New Year's Even, there was a girl crying in my bedroom. I walked in, picked up my guitar and started playing for her. She said she felt a lot better. That's how good I play!
'Sometimes we all go out busking. We've busked in some pretty weird places, too - like Frinton-on-Sea. It's an old people's retirement place so we didn't go down too well. And we started busking in Liverpool Street Station once, but got moved on by security. We were singing a BBMak song - I guess they didn't like it.
'Busking's great because we can sing our songs exactly as they were written. Loads of our lyrics get taken out because they're too rude. There was originally some really bad stuff in an album track, All The Way, but it's too filthy for me to reveal. Sorry!
'I can play a mean air guitar. Queen songs are good for that, and a nice rock wig helps. I like to cheese it up to the max.'
