For a few months, there was an official Busted page in every issue of Sneak. I'm going to try and get them all up here!
We were well chuffed with our discs on TOTP Saturday
This week I've been on a wicked holiday with a few mates. We haven't had much free time lately 'cos we were busy finishing the album and promoting Sleeping With The Light On, so it was really good just to chill out! In fact, I thought seriously about whether or not to come back home! It felt so good to wake up when I wanted and not have someone ringing me saying, 'You've got to be here,' or 'You've got to get up really early'!
Boring
Just before I went away, Pop Idol 2 and Fame Academy 2 kicked off. I'm not really a big fan. To be honest, I think it's all b*******. I don't want to slag off the people who go on those shows, but I just think it's boring. It's too predictable - they make a band, they get a record deal, they put a single out, they know they're going to get to number one.
Pop Idol is good television until it gets serious. When it's a joke and Simon Cowell's taking the piss out of people, it's really funny! But when they start getting all serious and singing in the studio each week it's so boring. It'd be really good if it just stopped after the first couple of audition rounds!
Stupid
I keep seeing Jodie Marsh in the papers and I read in Sneak about her going out with Dane from D-Side. I think he's really stupid, to be honest, because those kind of girls just want attention. They do stuff just so they can sell their stories. If I had to choose between Jodie and Jordan, I'd choose Jordan - but only 'cos she's slightly fitter!
Dirty
Finally, my car has now been fixed up after it got broken into a few weeks ago by thieves who smashed the windows and stole my stereo. So it's all sorted.. but it's really dirty! I think I need to do a bit of cleaning before I can go posing in it again!
See ya, Charlie!
As you read this, I'm on a beach - ha ha! We've been given a week off so I've flown away on holiday for a bit of a rest.
My school holidays always consisted of going to Butlins and Haven, so this is my first beach holiday. But I'm a bit worried about sunbathing - it bores the hell out of me!
Fans
The highlight of last week was our amazing rooftop gig, when we performed on top of Virgin Megastore on London's Oxford Street! It was so hot up there - me and the guys were boiling! But the gig was really cool, man! We sometimes feel that we don't see the fans enough, so doing things like this is really important to us.
Special
Sleeping With The Light On charted on Sunday and we weren't expecting a number one, to be honest, as it's the last release off the album. But we're so happy with the chart position! The song has a special meaning for me, 'cos it's the first single that James and I wrote together!
Rubbish
I had a day off last week and went to my mates Chris and Emma's house. Later, I tried to do one myself, but it was a total disaster. We bought a little throwaway barbecue but it took an hour just to cook two sausages - rubbish! Finally our neighbours said we could use theirs. So I cooked the meat and put it down on a plate. But when I looked around, a cat was licking all my food. Disaster! Don't worry, I didn't eat it - and I chased the cat away too!
See ya, Matt
Busted bit!
Poor Charlie has his Porsche Boxster car broken into last week! Vandals smashed windows and stole CDs and his brother's mobile. 'I'd only had the car one day!' a gutted Charlie told Sneak
To all you Sneaky people
This week we had such a laugh but it was mental! We went up to Scotland to film The Saturday Show, where Charlie got a big surprise! They showed a clip of him weeing his pants when he was little. It was hilarious - me and Matt were p***ing ourselves!
Then we flew down to London to pre-record SM:tv and CD:UK, then went back up to Glasgow to do a gig. It was like being on a yo-yo!
Showdown
We saw David Sneddon at The Saturday Show 'cos he was guest-presenting. Weirdly, every time he's had a single out, we've had one out too. There's been a showdown every time and Sleeping With The Light On is out the same day as his new one!
There were 30,000 people at our Glasgow gig, which was amazing. The fans get excited because they hardly ever get to see us 'cos we're usually down south. Our fans are great everywhere, but in Scotland we feel like we really get the chance to give something back.
Matt's been adding his own special appreciation when we're live! He had his trousers low anyway, but the other day his whole butt was hanging out (see below)! The girls there liked it though!
Fanmail
One weird thing that happened in Scotland was that we got fanmail sent from Japan! The Japanese fans always send stuff to UK TV studios. They must look at our website diary and work out where we'll be. The stuff we got was quite funny 'cos the English wasn't very good. But the Japanese fans are wicked - we're still talking about what a great time we had there!
See ya later
Love James
This week we love..
Our new tour! We've been planning the second tour, which starts early next year. We can't wait 'cos it's an arena tour, which will look amazing!
Happy songs! We're recording our next album and it's going great. But we'll have to find some ballads to put on there 'cos every song we've done is really upbeat!
Beaches! We've got some time off in August so we're going to head off to different beaches around the world and get some sun. It'll be good to chill out!
Alright, how's it going? Check out our official weekly column - only in Sneak!
We've just got back from a week in Japan, which was mad! The weirdest thing there was the fans - they're wicked, but so polite. They're like, 'Can I have a photo please, Matt?'
Sometimes the Japanese fans can't talk to us 'cos they can't speak a lot of English, so they'll just make noises at you, like, 'Aaah, James, ungh..' It's well strange!
We've got loads of fans in Japan - some really, really fit ones, and some really ugly ones, too!
Mustard
We had some mad moments on TV! Matt's trousers fell down halfway through a performance. He had to finish the song shuffling about with his trousers round his ankles!
We had a translator, so we tried to make every answer as confusing as possible! Like, when someone asked how we got the name Busted, we'd say, ''Cos we like custard but we don't like mustard!' We've no idea if she translated it properly, though!
We saw some very, very weird stuff out there, too. We weer walking past a computer shop and saw this video game of girls playing volleyball, and the screen next to it was showing two cartoon characters! We were gonna buy a game for James!
Weird!
Another weird thing about Japan was that we kept meeting people we knew! James' parents' next-door neighbours from Southend turned up at a signing, and we bumped into someone Charlie knew from his posh school! Bizarre!
We're glad to be back home, though - the only TV we watched for the whole of the week was boring news!
See you next week,
Matt, Charlie, James
Matt loves.. shopping
'The shopping in Japan is wicked. I really like this clothing label called Bathing Ape, but you can only get it in a couple of stores in the UK. I ended up spending £600 on Bathing Ape stuff in Japan!'
Charlie hates.. Japanese food
'Matt adores Japanese food, so he was loving the sushi and noodles - but he didn't try munching on octopus tentacles or anything! I'm the fussiest eater in the world, so I lived on McDonalds all week!'
James loves.. gadgets
'We all bought laptop computers and iPods out there 'cos they're so cheap! And we saw this ace video camera that records straight on to DVD, which was well flash!'
