Matt and Charlie reckon you live in your own little world. What's 'planet James' like?
I do live in my own world and I like it there. It's all about good times, and your favourite movies and bands. It's a self-indulgent world.

Psycho Girl.. you sure it wasn't you that was the weirdo?
It's really her. But sometimes you write a line just cos it's good and then what you've written actually starts happening.

Eh? You wrote Psycho Girl before it actually happened?
No, I wrote it cos I thought she was a psycho girl, but then she started doing really weird stuff. Things I'd written about, but didn't think she'd really do.

Does she know it's about her?
No! I can't tell you what happened, but there was a lot of anger, violence and shattered glass.

What's with all the faces you pull for the camera?
I don't really like smiling all the time - it hurts your jaw.

You're a big 'NSYNC fan. Just how far did your love go?
I didn't have any posters, but I had all their concert DVDs. I watched them all the time, I still do. I liked Backstreet Boys too, but I'd rather be in a proper band. It's more me.

What got you interested in aliens and, er, Michael Jackson?
Michael Jackson's not an alien. His talent is just out of this world!

You've been dubbed the talented one in Busted. Is Charlie in the band cos he's fit?
No! He's so not just in the band cos he's fit (laughs). We're all talented boys. Sometimes people think that we're more into our other bands, like me working with McFly, but that's just a hobby. And Charlie has his own side band, Fightstar, but he doesn't prefer it to Busted. It's nice to have sidelines. It keeps us interested in Busted even more.

Who's a better songwriter, you or Tom McFly?
I taught him everyone he knows!

Have you ever pulled a girl with your beer-goggles on and then thought she was a bit of a minger afterwards?
No, because I don't ever sleep with girls the first time I see them. I've never, ever done that so you don't have that unpleasant surprise the next day! I do my research first.

Did it bother you when you were the only single one in the band?
No, cos I did have a girlfriend. I just kept it secret.

Why do tarty girls like Jordan do it for you?
Jordan doesn't do it for me. It's the Virgin air hostesses who really do it for me. They're well fit. The last flight we took, I just couldn't stop staring. We had three Virgin air hostesses surprise us on TRL once.. amazing!

Do you dream about the Hilton sisters?
Yes, I love them. I like the idea of snogging them both together.
